Gary J. Matassa, Jr.
Gary started
drumming at age ten. He studied
percussion in his high school music program where he won the Louis Armstrong
Award, John Phillip Sousa Award, and the National Orchestra Association
Award. After graduating from Penn
State University
, Gary studied
with several private teachers and has taught drums for over ten years. He’s performed and recorded with several Pittsburgh
area professionals and has opened for music legends such as B.B.
King, Loretta Lynn, and Tonya Tucker.
